I’m thrilled to share that the eBook version of my new book, Improvising With and In Higher Education: All Together Now, is now officially live as of October 3, 2025. The hard copy will follow soon, with publication expected by October 21, 2025.
This moment feels both celebratory and reflective. The book has been a co-creative journey brought to life through the contributions of educators, administrators, staff, students, and community partners who believe that improvisation isn’t just a theatrical practice but also a vital way of being and becoming together in higher education. Across its 13 scenes and nine interludes, we explore how saying “yes, and…” can help us build new performances of higher education and community and relationality.
To mark this joyful milestone, I’d love for you to join me for one (or both!) of two upcoming virtual “meet-and-greets”. These will be informal, playful gatherings on Zoom—spaces to (re)connect, celebrate, and continue creating with one another. Whether you’re a contributor, colleague, family member, friend, or simply curious about improvisation, you’re warmly invited.
Virtual Celebrations
-
Thursday, October 23 — 12:30–2:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time
-
Wednesday, November 19 — 4:00–6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time
Zoom Link (same for both): Â https://washington.zoom.us/j/95002808641
   Meeting ID: 950 0280 8641
These sessions will include opportunities to share memories, exchange stories, and maybe even improvise a bit together. There’s no need to stay the whole time: drop in, say hello, and celebrate how far we’ve come (and create possibilities and activities moving forward).
I’m deeply grateful to everyone in our ensemble for shaping this work and building community. The book’s publication is not just a culmination, it’s also another beginning, an invitation to keep wondering, playing, and creating all together now.
Feel free to learn more about the book via this website under the Publications Tab.
Hope to see you soon.
